Learn to laugh in the rain

For as long as I can remember, when it started to rain outside, everyone would sing..."Rain rain go away! Come again another day!"
I took a minute to reflect on that exact rhyme today as the rain came down outside in buckets all day long.

How can people possibly be down and out when it is rainy outside! The rain gives us the opportunity to experience so many wonderful things!! Without the rain, the grass would be brown, as well as the trees! The flowers would be withered and depressing! Our gardens would be barren! Without those gardens, how could we ever have those wonderful family dinners with food that makes our hearts melt and belly's happy! Rain is the source of life and should be a joyous event every time it happens!!

I have to admit! I didn't always think this way! I was once a "rain rain go away-er". After moving to Rochester I became great friends with the wonderful Jyo! Whenever we would make plans to get together and hang out outside....somehow it would rain! Park ave fest was a big one! We had the plans made for a while and about an hour before we were supposed to leave, the skies opened up and flooded the streets after being sunny ALL morning! We decided to go anyways. All of the vendors were closed, but it didn't matter to us! We walked down park ave, had wonderful conversations, did a little shopping at parkleigh then had a delicious meal at Aladdin's!

As luck would have it....the next time Jyo and I decided to have another outdoor adventure the rain was predicted to be coming out in full force! This time it was the Rochester Public Market! We had been waiting for this day for MONTHS! nothing was going to stand in our way! We did a little shopping and got all the fruits and veggies we needed, decided we were hungry and needed to remedy that ASAP! We ended up sharing a Polish feast! Stuffed cabbage and a plate of pierogi! OMG! Delish! About 5 minutes into our meal....once again, the skies opened up, but this time, with 35mph winds! Despite the weather, we finished our food, and did some more shopping!

The walk to the car was crazy! Anyone else on the earth would have been cursing the heavens, but not us! We just looked at each other and laughed! We were loving life! We were enjoying our friendship that is built to last a lifetime. You know that you have a lifelong friend when most say it's the worst day in the world and you are having the time of your life!

(Jyo and I after our AWESOME rainy walk to the car....we indeed we dripping!)

So here's to all those days that you think you can't enjoy yourself! Just embrace each moment and live your life to the fullest no matter the situation!
